William Robert Baker II, 78, of Hollidaysburg passed away on Tuesday at his home. He was born in Huntingdon, son of the late William Robert Baker and Verna Marie (Surcek) Baker Crofcheck. He married Kathleen Pounds on February 14, 1997.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years; 2 daughters, Christine Mosher (Jared) and Katrina Beckel (Zach); 3 sons, CMSgt (Ret.) Dennis Stehley (Christine), Jay, and Wayne (Janelle); 16 grandchildren: Tyler Mika, Scott Jr., Kayla Corle, Cassie Leonard, Alana, Dylan, Liza Leonard, Augustine Stehley, Makaehla, Vivian, Mallory, Pippa, Landon, Sadie, and Sawyer; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Jamison; a daughter-in-law Cristy Baker, and his best friend Dan Dangle.
He was preceded in death by a son, Scott, who passed away on January 10, 2026; siblings: Phyllis Berkebile, Denny Baker, Sally Boone and Eva Byers.
Bill graduated from Captain Jack High School in 1965.
He went on to serve his country in the Navy during Vietnam.
Bill worked at F.L. Smith for 30+ years. Bill also worked construction with his son, Wayne, and grandson, Dylan, after his retirement.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, baking, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville, where a funeral service will follow at 3pm with Military Honors.
