October 7, 1936 - June 22, 2024
William “Bob” R. Gray, 87, of Carlisle, formerly of Duncansville, passed away Saturday. He was born in Williamsburg, son of the late Elmer and Harriet (Robinson) Gray. He married Joann Lutz in 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years; a daughter, Jo Lyn Fry and husband Andrew of Boiling Springs; two sons: David and wife Tracy of Etters, and Shawn and wife Kimberly, of East Berlin; a sister, Margaret Noble; four grandchildren: Benjamin, Brody, Timothy, and Olivia; and two great-grandchildren: Blair and Eleanor.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Gray and sister, Jean Sinisko.
Bob graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and served in the US Army 25th Infantry Division Honor Guard in Hawaii from 1960-1962.
He retired from Appleton Papers as a boiler operator after 43 years service.
Bob was a non-denominational Christian and was hearty in his faith.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading. He was always willing to help people with their projects. He was known for his ready smile.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2pm Thursday June 27, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm.
Private interment at Alto Reste Park.
