William L. Knox Sr.

July 4, 1949 - June 13, 2024

William L. Knox Sr., 74, of Altoona, passed away Thursday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Myrl and Jessie Mae (Bickel) Knox.           

Surviving are two daughters: Kari Limbo and Trysha Travaglini; two sons: William L. Jr. and Brad Knox; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Susan Pringle; two brothers: Dennis and John Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill graduated from Altoona High School in 1968 and worked as a copier and typewriter repair technician.

He was an avid volunteer firefighter for Mill Run Volunteer Fire Department.   

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorized scooter around the community, and attending his grandchildren’s games.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Friday June 28, 2024, at Canoe Creek State Park Pavilion 3.
