William “Bill” R. Aikins, 84, of Duncansville PA, passed away Tuesday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born in Shelocta PA, son of the Laird and Leona (Marshall) Aikins. He married Beverly McCracken in 1960.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years; two sons: Michael in FL and Robert and his wife Janice, in SC; and two grandchildren: Taylor (Aikins) Campbell, and Grayson Aikins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Wayne, Fred, and Richard “Rich”.
Bill was a graduate of Marion Center High School and a US National Guard Veteran. He retired as a supervisor from FL Smithe in 2003. After retirement he drove dealer trades for Fiore Toyota.
He loved spending time with his wife, boating, camping, and traveling. Bill and his wife traveled to all the states except Alaska. They were members of National Campers and Hikers and other local camping clubs for many years.
The family and friends will gather privately in his memory and to celebrate his life.
