Wilma I. Fleck, 89, Altoona, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Harold A. and Helen M. (Fink) Struble.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Lee (Fleck) Hand and husband, Lemont, of Altoona; three grandchildren: Tabitha Hand and Beverly Robinson, both of Altoona, and Samantha Seidel and husband, Nathan, of State College; a sister, Mary Pheasant and husband, Kenneth, in Florida; two nephews: Timothy and Andrew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Wilma graduated from Tyrone High School in 1949. She served four years in the U.S. Air Force, two of which were active duty as a pharmacy technician. She was employed for decades at the Blair County Assistance Office and retired as a supervisor in 1996.
Wilma loved reading, listening to music, traveling and she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Friends will be received from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2020, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m. Cremation service provided by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Wilma's name may be made to the Altoona Area Public Library.
