Zenith A. (Hoover) Dodson

Oct 1, 1946 – June 15, 2024

Zenith A. (Hoover) Dodson, 77, of Carson Valley, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.  She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Earl Sr. and Betty (Thompson) Hoover.  She married Donald Dodson in 1964.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years; a son Dan and wife Samantha of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Zoeanne Hoover-Acker; three brothers: David, Theodore, and Tyler Hoover.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly, in 1965; and two brothers: Mahlon and Earl Hoover Jr.

Zenith graduated from Hollidaysburg High School and earned a BS in Accounting.

She retired as Director of Finance at Amtran after 20+ years.

Zenith was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and assisted with finances.

She enjoyed flower gardening, her dog Maddie, and riding her bicycle.  She was a faithful and loving wife to her husband, Don.

Zenith was a selfless woman who loved helping others.

Friends will be received from 12-2pm Tuesday June 25, 2024 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm with Pastor Barry Fry officiating.
