John F. Roller, 91, Hollidaysburg, died Friday morning, June 27, 2008, at his residence.

He was born January 6, 1917, in Harrisburg, son of the late John and Anna (Shoemaker) Roller. He married Doris J. Bender June 2, 1990, in Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jeanne Kormashoff and husband, Matt; three sons: John "Fred" Jr. and wife, Linda, Jeffrey and wife, Beverly, and John F. "Ricky" III; five stepdaughters: Connie Veller and husband, Joe, Debbie Young, Patricia Metz, Marjorie Walls and husband, Bob, and Kathy McGraw and husband, Bob; two stepsons: Richard Bender and wife, Tina, and Kenny Bender and wife, Robin; seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Tim Veller.

He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Hollidaysburg.

Mr. Roller retired from the Penn Central Railroad as a locomotive engineer in 1979 after 39 years of service.

He was a 1936 graduate of William Penn High School, Harrisburg.

Mr. Roller was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of the Hollidaysburg Lions Club, Fort Fetter American Legion Post 516 and the Allegheny Club.

Friends will be received from 1:00 to the 3:00 p.m. service Sunday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, the Reverend David P. Haydu officiating (www.sorgefuneralhome.com).
